Tagline: A Crash Course In Terror!
Plot: Joanne, Patty, Brian, and Craig prepare the old dorm building to be torn down. They are pursued by a serial killer with a wide range of murder methods, ranging from power drill to industrial steam cooker. Is it that spooky weird guy John Hemmit killing off the incidental characters, or is it someone/thing even more terrifying?
My rating: 6.5/10
Will I watch it again? No.
If you're in the mood for an 80s slasher and you've seen the big ones, give this one a shot. It's actually pretty good despite the slower-than-you'd-like pacing. There are a few kills, some gore and a little bit of nudity (oh how I miss seeing tan lines...) but the real star of the show is the ending which is unique in the genre. You're likely to guess who the killer is a few minutes before the reveal but it'll take you by surprise and not in a bad way. From there until the end it's really cool how the killer handles everything that comes around and the finale is VERY satisfying. It's just under 90 minutes but it feels like two hours and that's the biggest problem. There's probably ten minutes in the last half hour that could be cut and tightened up but overall it's pretty damn good, especially for a low budget slasher. Don't pass it up but don't be too eager to see a classic. It'll satisfy you if you're in the right frame of mind.
