#21 on SCI-FI TRAILERS VOLUME 9 & 10 (part of the TRAILER TRASH PROJECT)

Have you ever hit the display button on the remote thinking the movie is about to wrap up so you can get on with your life only to find out your HALF WAY THERE?!?  That’s this picture.  An astronaut returns from space with a disease causing him to melt.  He escapes from the hospital and the next 90 minutes is nothing but a chase, a long, boring, drawn-out chase with some bad actors and cheesy music (courtesy of Arlon Ober).  BUT, and this is a huge ‘but’, Rick Baker’s makeup effects are outstanding!!!  There’s a cool ‘death by electrocution’ scene near the end that’s really neat and some other things like small children smoking cigarettes and some more grisly makeup effects.  Geez, and to think that Rick Baker worked on STAR WARS (1977) around the same time as this.  Wow.
