Orgy of the Dead (1965)

Director: Stephen C. Apostolof

Starring: Criswell, Fawn Silver, Pat Barrington, William Bates, Mickey Jines, Barbara Nordin, Bunny Glaser, Nadejda Klein, Coleen O'Brien, Lorali Hart, Rene De Beau

More info: IMDb

Tagline: In gorgeous and shocking ASTRAVISION and SEXICOLOR!

Plot: John and his girlfriend Shirley go in search of a cemetary in order to inspire John for writing his next horror story. After they crash the car, they wander into the graveyard and encounter the dancing dead, a full moon spectacle overseen by the Ruler of the Dark. Before long the couple is spotted and taken prisoner. Tied to stakes and forced to watch the dancing, they await their fate.

My rating: 6/10

Will I watch it again? Hell, yeah!

OK, let's get one thing straight.  I know this is a shit movie.  It's got the slenderest thread of a plot which is nothing more than an excuse to have attractive women taking their clothes off, one by one, in a cemetery to some groovy mid-60s lounge music.  Read that last sentence three more times and let's go over the reasons why you need to see this.

Criswell!  Check.

Pocahontas...naked!  Check.

A sultry red-head who probably auditioned for GILLIGAN'S ISLAND  and lost.  Check.

Hot blonde doing what I have no idea.  Check.

The original Cat Woman!  Check.

Cleopatra without her clothes!  Check.

Huevos Ran-Hotchos!  Check.

Island delights!  Check.

The bride wore...nothing! (my personal favorite)  Check.

I...I have no idea.  Check.

What the?

That's better.  Check.

You can clearly see ORGY OF THE DEAD has plenty to offer.  Who needs a plot anyway, right?  The thing is, Ed Wood wrote this and knew that it wasn't enough to have beautiful girls stripping in a graveyard so he gave us a few lines of dialogue here and there and a couple of passers by to witness the whole thing.  That's a class act, Ladies and Gentlemen.  What a guy!
