My rating: 6/10

Will I watch it again? I'm sure I will at some point.

The more of this franchise I watch the more I'm surprised at how fun they are. There's nothing innovative about them. They're not trying to change the horror landscape. It's just more of the same. There's a 3 minute re-cap of the first three pictures (as if anyone needs a refresher course) which is pointless. It's not like watching watching BACK TO THE FUTURE II before the first one. You're not going to be lost.

Anyway, the kills are OK but they're not as gory or fun as before which is surprising since Tom Savini was back doing the effects.

There's some nudity-for-nudity's-sake but not as much as there should have been.

True story...in the early 80s, as I was about to blossom, I found a paper bag while helping my mom clean the garage. Inside that bag were two unnamed 8mm movies. My mom told me to quickly throw them away but my curiosity and my love of movies got the best of me so I saved them from certain doom. Turns out they were porn from the 60s. Ahhh, the memories of seeing my first porn...and in B&W! I was the envy of all the kids in the neighborhood. I was soon to be released unto the world to practice what I had learned from those training films with anonymous faces. Sadly, in a moment of weakness and probably guilt, I threw them away some years later. Let that be a lesson to you, kids. Don't every get rid of your first porno. Memories are fleeting and unless you hold onto it, that's all your ever going to have.

Oh, I didn't mention how fun it was to see Crispin Glover and a really young Corey Feldman.

It's a fun sequel but it certainly could've been better. Part 5 is next. Ugh.
