Tagline: Work Sucks.
Plot: Peter Gibbons just can't seem to catch a break. His girlfriend is cheating on him, he has an obnoxious neighbor, and he's completely miserable with his job as a small cog in a company called Initech. Then he visits a hypnotherapist, who dies just after putting Peter into a state of complete bliss. Free of worrying about making a living, he no longer feels the need to keep his job, just as the company is going through a massive downsizing. However, his new attitude only makes him more valuable in the company's eyes, and his friends Michael and Samir are fired instead. Together, they scheme to plant a virus inside Initech's computer system that will pull money into their own account.
My rating: 9/10
Will I watch it again? Yup.
I've got more than a hundred movies I've watched this year to write about and everybody's seen this so there's nothing I can say that you don't already know or feel. Hell, not much needs to be said. It instantly became a top-10 comedy for at least half the people who've seen it. Classic lines abound and there are too many gut-busting scenes to count. My favorite? Destroying the fax machine. Too bad you can find any clips online. It's nothing but re-enactments by fans and that's just not good enough compared to the real deal.
