My rating: 6/10

Will I watch it again? Give it a few more years and I'll go through the saga again from top to bottom.

The first flick is great. It's almost a grand slam, making it a tough act to follow. It's disappointing this is what they came up with but it's not that bad. I've never read any of Pierre Boulle's novels the films are loosely based on so I don't know if any aspect of this one sprang from the books. Regardless, Franciscus looks an awful lot like Heston and that he's the sole survivor of a crew that went after Heston's ship which ended up in the same place is enough to scratch your head over but you just roll with it. There are a few bits of recall from the '68 film and it is nice when Heston shows up. He adds something to it but not enough to save it.
