#45 on Dusk to Dawn Drive-In Trash-o-Rama Show Vol. 1 (part of the TRAILER TRASH PROJECT)

Hey! Not bad! I thought this was going to be some ultra low budget revenge flick. It's low on budget but high on production values, action, exploitation, revenge and fun! Pretty good acting across the board. The sheriff, Jesse (played by David Canary) has a nice scene where he opens up to Johnny about why he was booted out of the Army...because he's gay. That took me by complete surprise and it added a whole new level to his motivations. You just don't expect stuff like this to be in a film of this nature.

There's even a surprise cameo by a J&B bottle!

The villain, Colby, and his henchmen are real sonsofbitches that go a long way to fuck with Johnny and his grandfather, White Eagle (played wonderfully sympathetically by Frank DeKova). It's just horrible what they say and do. Despicable. But they get theirs in the end. JOHNNY FIRECLOUD is a very good drive-in movie and the widescreen print released by Something Weird Video is terrific. It's on a double bill with BUMMER (1973). Skip that one. It's fucking terrible but the disc is loaded with trailers and other goodies that make it a must-own for lovers of 70s revenge pictures and trash.
