#8 from SWORD & SANDAL TRAILERS VOL. 1. (part of the TRAILER TRASH PROJECT)

For some reason the viking setting feels very much like a Spaghetti Western (Marcello Gimbini's Spag-esque score helps). Regardless, it's a pretty decent sword & sandal action adventure. Mitchell does fine as the avenger. He's a bit eager with the knives like they were his six-shooters. It's a good looking picture, not a smart one, but then it fills the necessary requirements of a good Saturday matinee adventure movie. There are a few scenes of action but it does move a little slow from time to time. Fans of S&S movies will probably dig it. The only extra on the DVD is a B&W trailer but the widescreen transfer & English dub is a treat for Euro adventures from the 60s.
