#18 on SCI-FI TRAILERS VOLUME 9 & 10 (part of the TRAILER TRASH PROJECT)
I fully expected this to suck but boy was I surprised. It's actually goofy fun. All I needed to know was that the always wonderful Godfrey Cambridge and Burgess Meredith are in it. That it's a silly sequel to THE BLOB (1958) is just icing on the cake. The original is a really well made horror movie that hit all the right beats and is a classic in the genre. This sequel doesn't live up to the quality but it doesn't matter. The low budget and knowing winks to the camera make up for it. The gags are funny, the acting is cornball at times but the special effects of the creature are pretty cool, just like in the first picture. I watched it alone but it felt like it would be a really fun movie to watch with a group. Don't let the low IMDb score fool you, BEWARE! THE BLOB is a surprisingly good time and the film makers knew exactly what they were making.
