My rating: 9.5/10

Will I watch it again? Double duh.

While I prefer the first film over this one, it's not by an awful lot. This sequel is still one hell of a fucking movie. It's a natural continuation of the first film and it's really nice that we get to see the elder Corleone in his younger years and it's nice how it's woven into Michael's story. Everything that was great about the first one applies here. It's 30 minutes longer (and over 3 hours long) than the first film which wears on my just a teensie little bit but there's not a scene I could live without. It's a masterpiece and a worthy follow-up to the '72 film but it's not quite as solid as its predecessor. And what about the third film? I'll get around to watching that one again at some point. It gets a bad rap, and deservedly so, but it was warranted. If it had been a better film people wouldn't trash it by saying it wasn't necessary but it is nice to see Michael's story come to a definitive end.
