Bruno Mattei wasn't the kind of director who made quality pictures.  His were low to modest budget exploitation genre films - Women in Prison, Nazisploitation, horror, action, etc. You watch his films not for their artistic merit but for the gore and nudity.  THE OTHER HELL is no exception.  This Nunsploitation offering is more of a horror thriller with the priest trying to figure out what the hell is going on at the convent and who is to blame.

With some neat imagery and an electronic score by Goblin, it's got its moments of cheesy sleaze and blood but taken as a whole it's rather bland and dull.  It's tough to beat ALUCARDA (1978) when it comes to Nunsploitation horror so it's not fair to compare it to that (even though I guess I just did) but I have to mention it because ALUCARDA is such a great and fun Nunsploitaiton picture that it's perfectly OK to give THE OTHER HELL a pass unless you're a completest like me and have to watch every single one.  If that's the case then knock yourself out but now you have an idea of what you're in for.
