She-Wolf of London (1946)

Director: Jean Yarbrough

Starring: June Lockhart, Sara Haden, Don Porter, Jan Wiley

More info: IMDb

Tagline: A woman whose hatred knew no bounds!

Plot: A young heiress finds evidence suggesting that at night she acts under the influence of a family curse and has begun committing ghastly murders in a nearby park.

My rating: 4/10

Will I watch it again? I'm dangerously close to giving away the Wolf Man Legacy Collection box set.

#9 of 31 Days of Horror 2010.

If you're looking for a sequel to THE WOLF MAN (1941) or FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN (1943) you won't find it here. This has nothing to do with the previous Universal monster films. Though made by Universal, it's curious that they didn't use anything from the others. There's no mention of the Talbot family. In fact, it's referred to as the Alenby curse rather than the Talbot curse. ??? Exactly.

If you're paying any attention you'll figure out what's really going on twenty minutes in. After that it's smooth sailing...that is if you don't mind waiting another forty minutes to find out if you're right. Otherwise you're likely to be bored but the ending is great if it's any consolation. If anything it's more of a mystery picture than a horror film. But do you know what the best part was? It's only 61 minutes long so it's not too painful.
