Plot: When the others leave for the night, the last coroner begins to fondle the corpses. He quickly moves to the corpse of a young woman who died in a car crash, tearing her clothes off and mutilating her body. He then mounts her and rapes her corpse while taking pictures with a camera and timer. He brings her heart back home to his dog for food.
My rating: 8/10
Will I watch it again? Yeah. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies.
#15 of 31 Days of Horror 2010.
Well, if you read the plot synopsis you know exactly what's going on (cue Marvin Gaye's, "Let's Get It On"). Oh, yeah. Necrophilia, baby! Bring your favorite gal home, light some candles, mix up a couple of cocktails and enjoy the show. You'll know it's love if she's still sitting there next to you after it's over, thirty minutes later...unless, of course, you made her a long island iced roofie. Then it's a guarantee.
Yep, thirty minutes of "I can't stop looking" and barely a word of dialogue about one corner's love oh his job that goes way farther than most in his profession. Maybe not. It's bizarre. That's for damn sure. This is by the same guy who directed a very good, visual and moody film, THE ABANDONED (2006). His next film after AFTERMATH was even better and also a half hour in length, GENESIS (1998). Netflix has them both on instant view so you have no excuse. Horror fans need to take the time to get to know these. I'm glad I did. Now let me get back to my "date"...
UPDATE 10/17/10: Saw it again and it's even better than before - especially with a crowd.
