I dig this guy's films.  Larry Cohen makes fun, creative (usually) horror films that stand out among most all other low budget pictures.  The 'stuff' special effects are great and they used a variety of techniques to make it depending on what the scene needed.  It's occasionally funny (Paul Sorvino steals the show and he's hilarious) with the second half of the picture bringing a lot of the laughs but it's always enjoyable and watchable.  Michael Moriarty's a strange choice of leads for this picture with his unusual accent which gives him a laid back and almost lazy vibe to his performance. By the end, though, I dug him. It's the characters around him that all add up to a fun cast. I might revisit this someday after a couple of decades fly by and see how it holds up.  They should make a sugar free option of The Stuff.  It looked delicious.
