Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
Director: Steven Spielberg
Starring: Harrison Ford
More Info: IMDB
Tagline: If adventure has a name... it must be Indiana Jones.
Plot: After arriving in India, Indiana Jones is asked by a desperate village to find a mystical stone. He agrees, and stumbles upon a secret cult plotting a terrible plan in the catacombs of an ancient palace.
My Rating: 7 /10
Would I watch it again? Duh
I've always really liked this one despite the over abundance of comic relief. I really like how they took Indy on a dark journey. He beats a kid for fuck's sake. Watching it recently Willie and Short Round really got on my nerves. Capshaw looks the part but she's given wayyyyyy too many stupid silly lines. I guess you can thank Spielberg's dickin' her for that. I'm sure she was given many more lines after she went down on him. The kid's not as bad but he does have his moments where he needs to stop. You can't blame anyone but Spielberg and Luca$ for that. They wrote, directed and produced it. They could have said, "NO". There are just too many moments where it feels forced that one of those two just HAS to get in one more jibe.
The score is great, the action is great and so on. If the cornball lines had been excised and played this to the adults this would be a great sequel and it'd be the one to beat.
