Will I watch it again? Maybe.

Well here's a nice surprise.  The title alone (plus knowing that it was produced by Adam Sandler, no slam on him...there's just very little of his I enjoy) kept me from seeing this for years but, at the insistence of my friends, I finally gave it a shot, if nothing else, just to get them to stop talking about. I fucking dug it, man. Allen Covert is hilarious.  Why isn't this guy in more stuff?  He was great, him and his young Mel Gibson looking self.  No matter what happens with Jonah Hill's career, there will always be that one moment when he had the best acting gig of his career.

Not all of the gags work (when do they, really? but there are enough laugh out loud moments that got my attention.  The hits are big enough to absorb the misses. I almost forgot about Linda Cardellini.  She's fantastic.  As good as she is she should be out there more.  And then it's great to see SNL regulars like Kevin Nealon, Rob Schneider and David Spade in anything.  Doris Roberts was loads of fun and so was Shirley Jones.  So I guess I shouldn't be so gunshy about Adam Sandler productions although I will tread carefully.  I wonder if this is the best of them or if he's done anything else worthwhile.
