My rating: 6.5/10

Will I watch it again?  Yes.

I'm making my way through this franchise for the very first time and I'm ashamed to admit it.  It's hard to believe that I was a teenager when the first three films were out and I never saw them.  Anyway, I like this one.  This is where the franchise goes off the rails a little and Freddy gets more playful and fun.  The first two in the series were straight up more serious horror movies.  It's this Freddy from 3 on that I'm familiar with only from what I saw in pop culture.  He's a smartass wisecracking motherfucker.  Despite any shortcomings the films have, I appreciate their creativity in the effects and kills.  It's great stuff.  Langenkamp is back and her acting hasn't gotten better.  She's the lowest rung on the acting ladder in this picture.  Some of characters are goofy but that plays into the picture's sense of humor.  I hope the franchise can at least keep it up with the fun.
