My rating: 6/10

Will I watch it again?  No.

Some of this requires some suspension of disbelief like an FBI agent learning to surf from scratch and soon hanging with the big boys.  Reeves is OK.  Swayze is fun and so is Busey.  McGinley is mad as hell.  The action is pretty good and the score has some nice moments.  My favorite part of the film is when Johnny Utah (ahahahahahaha...played by Reeves) goes with the boys on the airplane jump.  It's a pretty tense scene because he (and the audience) doesn't know if he's going to die and they drag this out for several minutes of beautiful scenery while they drop until the final moment of truth.  Great scene.  When it's all said and done it's just a macho action movie that gets typically interrupted frequently with a dumb love interest.  The film's two hours long and it feels like it overstays its welcome.  By the time it was over I was long past ready for it to end.  Is it worth seeing?  Well, that's a personal choice that I don't want any responsibility in making.  The 20th Century Fox DVD has a nice anamorphic widescreen image and the extras you get are 8 deleted scenes (with no play all feature), 4 featurettes (over 40 minutes worth with no play all feature) and three theatrical trailers (all anamorphic widescreen).
