Will I watch it again?  Nah.

This would've been a fun movie to rent on VHS back in the 80s on a Friday/Saturday night and watch with friends.  It's better than the average Italian action dreck they were churning out back then.  It's an Italian/German co-production that shows every penny of its budget on the screen.  It looks great, the pounding electronic score works well, the acting is sincere and good, the few attempts at humor work because the actors sell it.  Lewis Collins is great as Wesley, the leader of the mercenaries.  He's got a great, rugged, handsome look (when he's decked out in his jungle gear) and he does a fine job of filling the role.  Lee Van Cleef is earning his paycheck and delivers a solid performance.  He must've enjoyed himself because the's really giving it his all and he's a blast.  The action is pretty damn good and, again, much better than the usual cheap stuff you get with the lesser Italian action flicks of the time.  They blow up A LOT of shit.  Explosions are plenty and they're the big, dark orange and black, hefty explosions that separate the men from the boys.  But if there's one fist pump moment it's this one...

Isn't that batshit insane?  This is one satisfying ride.  Everyone involved put together a good 98 minutes of action-filled goodness.
