Plot: A deadly infection breaks out in Manhattan, causing humans to devolve into blood-thirsty rat creatures. Six recently evicted tenants must survive the night and protect their downtown apartment building as the city quickly spirals out of control.
My rating: 6/10
Will I watch it again? No.
Clocking in at around 77 minutes (plus a few more for the end credits), this picture is a quick watch and doesn't have any slow spots to speak of. I dig the introduction of the characters and the relationship of the tenants. They're social and neighborly, something I don't have experience with. I wouldn't recognize my neighbors if I passed them on the sidewalk. The characters are likable. Even though the outbreak starts immediately and it slowly grows, it's not until halfway into the picture that the shit really hits the fan and stays hit until the end (and a nice ending it is). The handheld, always moving camera can get annoying. It's not my bag. I wouldn't mind it so much if there were spots where it would stay still. There's a good amount of gore and horror. I thought it was a bit silly that the infected took on physical characteristics of rats like A LOT of hair all over their faces but OK. I'll go along with it. I've bought into stranger things than that. It's a bad horror flick and probably one of the better 8 Films to Die For (from 2007) that I've seen.
