Will I watch it again?  No.

The Carry On films are a mixed bag for me.  Some aren't all that funny and some are mildly amusing.  This one is of the latter.  I think I laughed out loud once.  Like all of the films, the actors are solid.  The filmmakers are very talented but the script is what fails these pictures and that's the case with all of what I've seen so far.  Whether these movies work or not is down to the screenplay.  I kind of liked this one.  The characters are fun and they're all trying hard and doing what's probably written but it rarely rises above amusing.  Maybe that's what they were going for.  Just when you think the picture is getting too bogged (hahahahaha) down in the worker/management problems, everyone takes a day trip and has a wonderful time doing seaside carnival stuff...and loads and loads of drinking.  It's a whimsical diversion but it's also an obvious time killer.  I don't mind it in the least.  It was a nice distraction.  I'm staying with this series until I've seen them all and but I keep hoping that I'll find one that I fall in love with.  I'm already in love with the constant stable of actors that worked on this series.  They're fantastic but the material is lacking.  I really want to love this series but it's not easy.  I'd love to talk to someone who really digs these films.  Maybe I'm missing something.  They are a product of their time and I guess if you were around to see the first ones 60 something years ago it you were more likely to stay with them and enjoy them.
